How to Check a Halal Certificate in India | RealMuslim
Updated 2026-10-20
A halal mark on a packet is a claim. In India, open the register of the certifier and match the company name and the product. This page names two bodies and the day they were last checked. It lists no restaurants and it copies no shop directory.
A logo on a pack is not proof. Ask who certified the product, then open that body's own website and search the company or the product. If the certificate is missing, expired, or for a different product, treat the mark as unchecked.
Halal India publishes a register at halalindia.co.in. Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Halal Trust publishes its own site at jamiathalaltrust.org. Both addresses were opened on 19 Oct 2026. jamiat.co.in is the parent organisation, not the certificate register.
This page does not list restaurants, butchers, or packaged brands. Those lists go stale and they are someone else's directory. Verify the item in front of you.
Certification is a supply-chain check. It is not a ruling on every ingredient question. If a case is unclear, ask a qualified local scholar.

Questions people ask
Is a halal logo enough?
No. Match the product on the certifier register.
Which bodies are named here?
Halal India and Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Halal Trust, last checked 19 Oct 2026.
Does this page list restaurants?
No. A restaurant list would be someone else's directory, and it would go stale.
Is jamiat.co.in the certificate search?
No. That is the parent organisation. The trust register is jamiathalaltrust.org.
